Just add a tablet to a small glass of water. Comes in a few flavors, I got orange. Sugar free, made with Splenda. Not bad actually. The Picky Kid at first thought it was candy and popped it in her mouth, minus the water and the glass. Her expression made laugh. Then we tried it the right way and they didn't love it, except for waiting and watching it fizz up. I thought it was good, would taste better with ice cold water. But it was fun. Once.
It would be nice if they brought back Marathon Bars or Willy Wonka's Oompa Loompah Candies, they were half chocolate half peanut butter in a candy shell, and nothing like M&M's peanut butter, which are also pretty good. What were your favorites from way back when?
The Fizzies were fun. Now on to the next fad...

ReplyDeleteI am sorry, I don't know these brands. We don't have them here , just our own brands and I do remember our old ones. :)))
ReplyDeleteLove that you are a kid at heart! Never heard of Fizzies before but I bet my kids did. They look kind of like Alka Seltzer :) but much better tasting!
ReplyDelete@ Three-Cookies, it wasn't bubbly bubbly but it definitely had carbonation. It was fizzy, but not sure how long the fizz would last, it made 6 oz, small glass, we finished it pretty quickly.
ReplyDelete@ LDH, I thought the same thing, like alka seltzer! LOL!
Thanks for the comments!
I remember Fizzies. My kids loved them.

ReplyDeleteOh yes, I remember Fizzies. We weren't allowed to have pop but we were allowed to have Fizzies for a treat. As I recall, it was a summertime thing.
ReplyDeleteNever heard of Fizzies. If it tastes like Tang, I won't like it. Or those wax bottles, remember those? We weren't even allowed to have Kool Aid, so much sugar! My mom was ahead of her time in that regard!
ReplyDeleteI have never heard of these Carol; maybe they didn't come up my way across the border. Now I have to find some; love teh fact that they are sugar free.

I'm all for bringing back oompa loompa candies. Can we start a petition?
ReplyDeleteI don't remember Fizzies but did discover Fanta while in Italy. It seemed like a trip back in time each time we bought a bottle. I rarely drink pop but it sure helped us in the heat. Thanks for visiting my blog.

ReplyDeleteOMG- When Fizzies were all the rage, I thought I had died and gone to heaven! LOVED how that tablet fizzled away and left me with a fun drink! I think I was about four years old and was visiting my grandparents in CA when they told me to plop a tablet into some water! I was fascinated. Didn't know they were being sold anywhere these days- I'll have to look. :-) Sue
ReplyDeleteI remember Fizzies. Root beer was my favorite.
ReplyDeleteI loved bubble gum as a kid ... Double Bubble, Bazooka, Swell, Pal, Gold Rush. The ones that are still around have been reformulated and don't taste the same anymore.
There was a candy bar in the late 70s early 80s that I loved. Chocolate Ovaltine with some kind of crunchy bits that had the trademark malt flavor. They were really good.
I have never heard of fizzies. They look pretty cool though...like those Easter egg dye tablets that you dropped into the vinegar. I loved watching those melt. :)
