Catalina Dressing

Catalina Salad Dressing. A little spicy, a little sweet!

There are some bottled dressings I wouldn't do without. And sometimes a vinaigrette just won't do. This Catalina has a little spice and a little sweet to it, you can make it as spicy or as sweet as you like. It's a nice change from the usual!

  10. I will have to try this one. We loved Catalina dressing growing up. It was the first dressing I ever tried that wasn't my father's home made Italian.

  12. Too sweet for me. I like a half a cup of balsamic vinegar, a teaspoon of brown sugar, a generous splash of olive oil and lots of green leaves. For fun, some sliced feta cheese. Yum.

  14. I have never seen a recipe for Catalina dressing before. That's awesome, Carol. I love to add Catalina to my taco salads and never seem to have any when the mood for taco salad strikes. This is perfect for those times. I always have those ingredients onhand. Thanks!

  15. I have heard of Catalina dressing before but did not bother to look it up. Nothing beats home made, free from all the preservatives.

This mixture goes well with my palate.

  29. Blast from the past ... when I was growing up, my mom always used Catalina dressing. Might have to make your recipe just to relive the childhood memories. =D I'm giving away a copy of Kristin Hannah's "Night Road" this week if you're interested ...
