I loved mushrooms but quit eating them when I learned as a young adult that their spores cases are so light they are capable of floating through space and so hard they are capable of entering the atmosphere with out burning up. They are said to be symbiotic with humans getting them to propagate their mycelia, (underground colony system which produces the furits we eat) But went on a raw food diet a few years ago and began eating their fruits again after 30 years of abstinence.
I have several friends who don't eat mushrooms. I like to go out to eat with them because they'll pick their mushrooms out and give them to me! I can't figure out why anyone doesn't eat mushrooms.
I love mushrooms and they compliment lots of different foods! We have a mushroom farm here where you can pick wild mushrooms. Unfortunately, the edible and poisonous ones are there. Without knowing what is what, I'll stick to the store bought kinds.
