  2. I'm not a cook, which explains why I don't know what Julienne is.

    1. It's a cut that makes long strands, like matchsticks.

    1. Julienne are match-stick style slices. I used a peeler to make spaghetti like strands!

  4. Looks so green, and right now quite inviting. I have been craving green summer vegetables lately.

  5. are these from your kitchen? how did you grate them like that? It's perfect - like the way I want to do mine, but can't.

There are three kinds. They all work well, just depends what style you are comfortable with!
      Messermeister Julienne Cutter
      Kuhn-Rikon Julienne Peeler
      or
      Kyocera Mandoline Julienne Slicer

  12. Looks like zucchini, I'll have to find a peeler like that, cuz these would make great noodles for a rawfood diet recipe.

  17. I used a julienne peeler for the first time tonight -- my mother-in-law gave it to me. Perfect for cutting carrots that go well in cole slaw. One question, though, what's the best way to clean it?

    Great photo!

    1. Carefully! Not kidding, that blade is pointy. I use a toothbrush and then throw it in the dishwasher top rack.
