Mosaic Monday: Pea Shoots

It's so hot here. It's so hot everywhere! So the best I could come up with for Mosaic Monday is a salad mosaic. A nice cool salad! I love salad when it's hot out. but the family can't live on salad alone, or won't, so the Griller grilled a couple of skirt steaks, too!

My new favorite in my salad the past few weeks has been pea shoots! They add flavor and crunch and it's a nice something different. Adding dried cherries, fennel, walnuts and fresh mozzarella doesn't hurt either!

Joining Mary's Mosaic Monday again this week. For more mosaic's stop by the Little Red House!

  1. Looks delicious! Pea shoots always remind me of last year when we were in Sonoma. We ate at The Girl and The Fig. My husband isn't a "foodie". His meal came with pea shoots in the top. He couldn't scrape them off fast enough.

I don't know about pea shoots, but I'm assuming that they're the pea version of bean sprouts.

  23. Thanks for giving me some tips! I'm sure pounding them breaks the fibers and makes them more tender...and some great sauce tenderizes AND gives flavor! You put together such wonderful meals! ♥

  27. Tell me about it! Of course, we're used to the heat in Florida, but this started sooner and is more humid that I remember in years.
